1950s 14K Diamond Floral Cocktail Ring, Sz 4.75

This estate ring shows the quality craftsmanship and detailed design characteristic of the 1950s. Made of 14K solid gold, the ring is a domed design with textured gold petals with cutout details layered delicately over each other while not overlapping each entirely. At its center, the flower's stamens are made of 7 prong set VS 0.03 ct diamonds lifted on white gold filaments, showing the attention to detail placed in the design of this ring. 

The profile view of this ring is just as admirable as from the side, one can see the stamen (white gold and diamonds), the petals (textured yellow gold), the sepals (gold undercarriage with cutouts), and the stem (shank/band).  While the sepals of the undercarriage line up with the petals of the ring, the center of the undercarriage is an elongated oval cutout, making this ring more comfortable to wear.   

With a tapered band that starts at 1mm where it meets the undercarriage to 2.5mm at the bottom of the finger, this Italian masterpiece of mid century jewelry rises 18 mm above the finger, and is sure to make a statement.
