Antique Coral & Seed Pearl 800 Silver Brooch
This Victorian Era antique brooch features precious pink coral and natural seed pearls set in an .800 silver setting.
There are nine half-drilled, precious pink coral buttons. These coral buttons range from 5mm to 8mm in width and show natural color variation.
The brooch also contains two (2) 1.5mm natural seed pearls. The seed pearls are white with silver overtones.
The brooch was likely gold plated, as there is a yellow glow over some of the 80% pure silver setting.
The brooch is hallmarked "800" at the end of the hinge, and the pin sticks out well past the C-clutch which was typical of early Victorian era brooches.
Note: the pin is wavy, showing bending from use.
There are two posts between the 2nd and 3rd buttons, which may have held seed pearls, but it is unclear. The posts are easily overlooked unless one seeks them out.
Total weight: 5.77 grams.
